An Artiste remains ordinary until he starts hitting platinum; selling 10s or 100s of millions of albums, selling out tours, gaining millions of followers on social media, having access to anything he desires, going anywhere he wants and when he wants, seeing people screaming and fainting at his appearance. What else? You feel like a god! Maybe your fame is only 5,000 Facebook followers and 100 thousand albums and nobody can talk to you again. Today I want to tell you that FAME CAN KILL!
HOW FAME KILLS
Well, let me quickly share history with you: John Lennon of the BEATLES once said this in 1966 “Christianity will go, it will vanish…..We’re more popular than Jesus Christ” He died young and last year when Kanye West introduced Paul McCartney who was the second in command of the BEATLES in his track, most youths asked who is Paul McCartney? Words of the famous usually hastens their deaths. Titanic ship sunk during its first voyage after those who built it said ”Even God could not sink it”.
Hundreds of famous musicians have passed on in this generation, most of which died of substance abuse due to emptiness caused by absence of God in ones life. Others died of assassination by hateful fellow.
Fame can ultimately put you against God, our God is jealous. Praise is His, glory is His, accolades are His, power is His, so when you consciously or unconsciously become God’s RIVAL who WINS?
HANDLING FAME
- Are you boastful? God hates boasting, if you must boast boast in God.
- Are you thankful or full of pride? Nothing is yours by your ability.
- You are nothing but DUST
- You must honour God by letting the world know He’s the giver of your every success
- Treat people well, nobody is forever famous.
- Ask God to teach you to handle it. Purify your intentions.
Cheers!
